THE HOUSE Casa de Vilela, built in 1731, was the setting for notable historical events, such as the wedding of D. Diogo de Sousa, 1st Count of Rio Pardo and 49th Viceroy and Captain-General of India. After the creation of the municipality of São Tomé de Negrelos in 1836, Casa de Vilela became the local administrative headquarters and hosted the first sessions of the Town Hall in 1837. The property remained in the possession of the Sá Brandão Freire family from the early 17th century until 1895, when it was acquired by the current owners. For years, it served as the family’s vacation residence and has recently undergone a thorough renovation, equipping it with modern features while preserving its original architecture. Booking Conditions Booking stays at Casa de Vilela are subject to availability for the desired period. Bookings are accepted exclusively for the entire house; individual rooms cannot be booked. A minimum of 3 nights is required for reservations. Long-term stays may be considered, depending on the house's availability. The use of the central heating system is available upon request and incurs an additional cost to the daily rate. 2. Daily Rates Daily rates vary according to the time of year and the number of guests and will be communicated via email after receiving the reservation request. Additional Charge for Central Heating Use The use of the house's central heating system is available upon request and incurs an additional cost to the daily rate. The charge amount will be informed during the booking process. 3. Booking Confirmation After receiving the booking request through the website and confirming availability for the requestec period, we will send the total stay amount and necessary details to formalize the booking via email.
